Hi, thanks for the trust and support of PolyCera membrane.

To facilitate our customers to test the filtration efficiency of PolyCera® membrane on different feed water quality, we have specially designed a bench-top testing machine for the use of qualitative experiments for customers

Now here is a bench-top testing machine of PolyCera membrane. This is a bench-top testing machine of PolyCera PS-1801. First, let me introduce its appearance. The core component of the bench-top  testing machine is a PolyCera membrane 1812 membrane element. When in use the membrane element is installed in the white membrane pressure vessel. On the top of the testing machine, we can see a concentrated water tank and a production water tank. In addition, the two handles on the top are convenient for the portability of the testing machine. On the front side of the testing machine, we can see a filtrate water flowmeter. A concentrated water flowmeter, a concentrated water pressure gauge and a concentrated water control valve. Inside the testing machine is a water pump. In addition, in order to facilitate the operation of the testing machine, quick connection tubes are used.

Here I will demonstrate the operation process of the PS-1801 bench-top testing machine

First, let's take a look at the 1812 membrane element. The end with the black rubber ring is the inlet of the 1812 membrane element. The end without the rubber seal is the product water side. First, we press the quick connecting pipe on the inlet side of the pressure vessel. After pulling out the quick connection tube, we use the plastic wrench that comes with the equipment. To remove the end cover of the pressure vessel. The product water side faces inward when installing the membrane element. The inlet side with black rubber ring faces outward. The membrane element is pushed completely into the membrane pressure vessel. Then we use the wrench to tighten the end cover. we connect all the tubing through quick connector.

A power cord is also provided with the small testing machine. After connecting the testing machine, we need to manually pour the filtrate into the concentrated water tank. Please note that before your first use of the PS1812 membrane element, we need to wash the element with plenty of water The membrane element we used in this demonstration had already been rinsed.Another point to pay special attention to is if we need to carry out COD test on the produced water. Because our membrane element uses glycerin as a protective fluid. The presence of glycerol will affect the test result of COD, so it is necessary to use a large amount of hot alkali solution to wash the membrane element first. Then rinse the element with clean water before conducting experiment evaluating COD removal. Especially when we use the PS-1802 nanofiltration testing machine, we need to pay special attention to this point. And it is strongly recommended that before you use PS-1802 nanofiltration testing machine for COD removal evaluation. It is best to run a set of clean water “blank”test for COD measurement to verify whether or not the glycerin protective fluids are completely cleaned from membrane elements.

Next, I will manually add the feed solution into the concentrated water tank. The filling of feed solution needs to be done manually. Manually feeding make-up solution is also required throughout the process. At this time let's look at the concentrated water pressure gauge. The general operating pressure is maintained at about 0.2 MPa . We can also increase the pressure appropriately when we carry out testing for some special process separation. In the test, we usually do not take samples from the filtrate water at the beginning of the test as there may be some residuals from element cleaning process in the system. After running the test for a few moments, we stop the test machine and pull out the quick connection tube on filtrate side. Then collect samples with prepared sample containers after restarting the test machine. This is the whole testing process. You should clean the equipment with hot alkali solution after the test. Then run the equipment again with clean water. If you need to reuse the 1812 membrane element after testing and cleaning. We recommend that keeping the element in clean water or soaked in sodium hypochlorite solution (~5 mg/L).

The operation philosophy of the nanofiltration PS-1802 testing machine is the same as PS-1801.
